Design & Planning Manager – Construction Projects

Location: Berlin, Germany

Are you passionate about shaping construction projects from concept to completion? We’re looking for an experienced Design & Planning Manager to take ownership of the planning and design coordination process, ensuring technically excellent, commercially successful, and sustainable real estate developments.

In this role, you will act as the central point of coordination across architecture, engineering, MEP, structural design, and construction teams, driving project efficiency through technical integration, value engineering, and planning optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate all design and planning activities from concept development through to detailed design and construction

• Manage interfaces between architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, and delivery teams

• Review, coordinate, and quality-assure planning and construction documentation

• Oversee planning schedules, project milestones, and design deliverables

• Drive cost, quality, and programme improvements through value engineering and lifecycle cost optimisation

• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle

• Maintain high standards of project data management and documentation quality

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in design coordination, technical project management, or construction project delivery

• Strong understanding of construction processes and multidisciplinary project environments

• In-depth knowledge of German construction regulations, including HOAI, VOB, and AHO frameworks

• Experience coordinating and integrating MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) design packages

• Demonstrated expertise in value engineering and developing commercially and technically effective solutions

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Fluent German (minimum C1) and excellent English language skills
