Vehicle Development Technician – Aerospace – San Francisco Bay Area – Full-time Onsite
Darwin has partnered with an innovative and fast-growing space company on a mission to make space access more frequent, flexible, and affordable. They design and operate lightweight orbital rockets and satellite propulsion systems, delivering technology with high reliability and rapid deployment capabilities.
You’ll join their Vehicle Team, that build the rockets from first stage through fairing. This is a hands-on fabrication role focused on sheet metal, assembly, and prototype development, where you’ll work closely with engineers to shape both the build process and the hardware that flies. It’s an exciting opportunity for anyone who loves solving problems in real time, working with their hands, and contributing to important aerospace systems.
Experience of Interest

2+ years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, prototype assembly, or mechanical integration.

Strong background in riveting, welding, metal forming, and mechanical fasteners (Helicoils, nutplates, fittings, torque marking).

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, layouts, and GD&T.

Familiarity with fabrication tools such as press brakes, rollers, shears, saws, and manual mills/lathes.

Comfortable working on important components and providing practical feedback to engineers.

Willingness to work flexible hours during key build or test phases.
