Job Overview
We are recruiting a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer for a 12-18 month contract on a large-scale industrial energy development in West Dublin. You will be responsible for implementing the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) across all mechanical packages. This role ensures that all heavy process pipework, welding, and structural installations meet international engineering standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspection: Conduct routine inspections of on-site mechanical installations, high-pressure pipework, and structural alignment.
- Documentation Management: Compile, review, and maintain comprehensive Quality Control Books, Walkdowns, and Handover packages.
- Defect Resolution: Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), identify root causes, and track corrective actions to closure.
- Welding Oversight: Review and verify welding procedures (WPS) and welder qualifications (WPQR) against project specs.
- Handover Coordination: Coordinate with client representatives for final mechanical system sign-offs and walkdowns.
Candidate Requirements (Must-Haves)
- Experience: 3+ years of QA/QC engineering experience within mission-critical environments (Power Plants, Data Centres, or Pharma).
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in heavy industrial process pipework and industrial utility systems.
- Testing Skills: In-depth knowledge of welding standards and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) reporting workflows (e.g., Radiography, UT, MPI, DPI).
- Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or specialized welding/inspection certifications (e.g., CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent).
- Attributes: Exceptional eye for detail, strong IT skills for digital QA/QC logging, and clear reporting capabilities.
