Overview of the role:
We are working with a global technology services organisation with a dedicated robotics practice. They are looking to hire a Robotics Architect to define and lead the architecture of complex robotics systems across sectors including mobile robotics, robotic arms, drones, and autonomous platforms. This is a senior individual contributor and leadership role sitting at the intersection of system architecture, engineering delivery, and client collaboration, shaping scalable robotics solutions and driving technical excellence across projects and teams.

Candidate Profile
Essential:
- A degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- A strong track record in robotics system architecture, with the ability to own end-to-end solution design from concept through to production
- Expert-level coding ability in C++ and/or Python, with demonstrable experience building production-grade robotics software
- Deep hands-on experience with ROS2, including the ability to define and enforce standards and best practices across engineering teams
- Comprehensive knowledge of SLAM, sensor fusion (LiDAR, IMU, vision, radar, GPS), localisation, mapping, and motion planning frameworks such as MoveIt2
- A solid grounding in control systems, real-time computing, and hardware-software co-design
- The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders
- A proven history of contributing to technical pre-sales, including solution scoping, client workshops, and architecture presentations
- Experience leading and mentoring engineers, with the gravitas to guide technical direction across multiple teams or projects
Required / Highly Preferred:
- Practical experience with robotics simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo, or comparable platforms
- Working knowledge of cloud and IoT ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including deployment pipelines and cloud-connected robotics architectures
- Familiarity with industrial and embedded ecosystems, including ARM, STM32, RTOS, PLC, and SCADA
- Experience working in multi-robot and multi-vendor integration environments, managing complexity across heterogeneous systems
