Darwin Space are currently hiring for a Senior Mechanical & Thermal Engineer on behalf of a business in Luxembourg.
Responsibilities
* Design, analyse, procure, assemble and test mechanical parts and mechanisms of (space and ground) terminals
or mechanical ground support equipment.
* Develop mechanical and thermal requirements in line with systems requirements.
* Manage the mechanical and thermal department (task clarifications, inputs & outputs verifications, support
incremental development of the team and best practices).
* Perform mechanical and thermal analysis.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure development in line with requirements
* Support the testing and validation activities.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation, such as system design definitions and ICD
The right candidate
* Holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
* Have at least 10 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
* Has experience with both mechanical and thermal FEA.
* Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in high standard execution of tasks.
* Is familiar with Microsoft office suite and Teams or is able to get acquainted in a fast manner.
* Is an outstanding verbal and written communicator in English with great interpersonal skills.
* Has experience writing quality technical documentation.
* Thrives in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
* Is a reliable and fun colleague to work with.
* Is familiar with ECSS standards.
* Has a citizenship from a member state of both EU and NATO.
