Payroll Administrator – Workday

We’re working with a growing organisation looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator with strong Workday expertise to join their team.
This is a hands-on payroll position for someone who understands the detail behind accurate, compliant payroll and is confident working within Workday. You’ll play an important role in managing day-to-day payroll operations while supporting payroll processes, reporting, reconciliations and ongoing system improvements.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for supporting the full payroll lifecycle across a multi-state workforce, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
You’ll also use your Workday expertise to support payroll administration, resolve issues, maintain accurate employee data and help improve payroll processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state US workforce
- Process payroll changes, adjustments, deductions, bonuses and other employee payments
- Review payroll data and timekeeping information to ensure accuracy
- Perform payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support payroll tax, compliance and year-end activities
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records within Workday
- Use Workday Payroll to process, review and troubleshoot payroll activity
- Produce payroll reports and support payroll analysis
- Work closely with HR, Finance and other internal stakeholders
- Respond to employee payroll queries and resolve issues efficiently
- Support process improvements, system changes and payroll-related projects
- Help maintain strong payroll controls, procedures and documentation
About You
We’re looking for someone with solid US payroll experience who is comfortable being hands-on and working with Workday on a day-to-day basis.
You’ll ideally have:
- Several years of US payroll administration/processing experience
- Strong multi-state payroll experience
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll
- Good understanding of US payroll legislation and compliance
- Experience with payroll reconciliations, audits and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with HR, Finance and employees
