Remote Sensing and Earth Observation

Darwin Recruitment are currently recruiting an EO/Remote Sensing Data Analyst for a business in Luxembourg that was founded in 2017, currently has 10+ employees and are a tech company focused on geospatial intelligence, environmental hazards, and water risk. They are at the forefront of leveraging Earth Observation (EO) data to drive innovative solutions for a sustainable future. They are committed to developing cutting-edge geospatial technologies for environmental monitoring and resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze and interpret EO data to support feature classification and mapping (mainly for environmental monitoring and natural hazards assessment).

* Apply machine learning techniques to EO data for processing large volumes of data.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EO data analysis with broader project goals.

* Design, develop, and maintain Python scripts and tools to automate EO data processing, analysis, and visualisation, ensuring efficient workflows.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience in Remote Sensing and EO data analysis.

* Solid understanding of machine learning applications in EO, such as image segmentation and time series analysis

* Proficiency in Python programming and software development tools.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

* Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science).

* 3-5 years of working experience.

* Experience with additional programming languages (such as Java, R, C++) and geospatial libraries.

* Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud and Azure (preferred)) and big data technologies.

* Some experience in research projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.

* Proficiency in other languages, such as French, Spanish, Italian, or Luxembourgish, is a plus.
