Senior Technical Superintendent
Location: Hamburg, Germany
The Opportunity
A well-established and globally active ship management company based in Hamburg is
looking for an experienced Senior Technical Superintendent to join their team. This is a
fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the technical management of a fleet, working
closely with crews, shipyards, and regulatory bodies to ensure vessels operate safely,
efficiently, and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Full responsibility for the technical performance and management of assigned
vessels
* Conduct regular onboard inspections to assess operational and technical
performance
* Plan, tender, and oversee repairs and dry dockings
* Prepare and monitor budgets, including tracking vessel expenditures and
reporting
* Maintain close communication with classification societies, flag states, and
regulatory authorities
* Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (ISM, SOLAS,
MARPOL, UVV, etc.)
* Support and evaluate senior onboard personnel, including submitting appraisal
reports
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience with Container Vessels
* Previous sea-going experience as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer
* Solid understanding of budgeting, reporting, and vessel operations
* Strong communication skills; fluent in English (German is a plus)
* Familiar with ISM systems and maritime regulatory frameworks
* Flexible and willing to travel internationally
