Freelance Opportunity | Senior Simulation & Avionics Systems Engineer

We’re currently supporting a leading international aerospace organisation on the search for an experienced Simulation & Avionics Systems Engineer to join a cutting-edge space programme.

Location – Friedrichshafen, Germany

️ Project

Join a highly skilled engineering team developing and validating advanced simulation environments for complex space avionics systems. You will contribute to system modelling, simulation development, verification activities, and continuous improvement of engineering tools and methodologies used across next-generation spacecraft programmes.

✅ Must-Have Skills

  • Space / Aerospace Systems Engineering – 5+ years
  • Simulation of Complex Avionics Systems – 5+ years
  • MATLAB / Simulink – 3-5+ years
  • System Modelling & System Identification – 3-5+ years
  • Software Testing & Verification – 3-5+ years
  • English – Fluent

⭐ Nice to Have

  • SimTG Modelling Framework
  • German language skills
  • Flight Control Systems simulation experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and validate component models for complex aerospace systems.
  • Maintain and enhance overall system simulation environments.
  • Perform structured software testing, code reviews and documentation.
  • Support model validation using test data and system identification techniques.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams on verification and concept studies.
  • Continuously improve simulation tools, methodologies and technical concepts.

Contract Length – 6 Months + Multiple Extensions (Multi-Year project)

Rate – Competitive

Start Date – ASAP

Language – English (Fluent) | German beneficial
