You’ll join a specialist R&D team within a fast-growing optical semiconductor company, working on power laser diode design and development. It’s hands-on, high-impact work with real-world applications across global markets.
What you’ll be doing:
This is a key role where you’ll contribute across the full R&D lifecycle of new laser components. Your work will include:
· Designing and characterizing power laser diodes (on InP)
· Leading design projects from concept through to industrialization
· Supporting production during development phases
· Helping manage the component characterization lab
· Promoting the company’s technology capabilities externally
· Conducting tech watch and staying ahead of market trends
There’ll be occasional cleanroom work and some international travel, adding variety to the desk and lab-based work.
What you’ll need:
· Engineering degree or PhD in optoelectronics
· Some experience in optoelectronic component design
· Semiconductor physics knowledge
· Project management capabilities
· Comfortable working independently and with cross-functional teams
· Fluent in written and spoken English
