Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed lighting designs, layouts, and calculations using industry software such as Dialux and Relux
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards including CIBSE guidelines and BS EN 12464
- Select appropriate lighting fixtures, control systems, and emergency lighting solutions
- Coordinate with other MEP disciplines to integrate lighting into overall building services design
- Review contractor work to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project managers
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of lighting systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation
- Ensure timely delivery of lighting packages within project deadlines
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Experience in lighting design and/or electrical building services
- Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g. Dialux / Relux)
- Knowledge of lighting standards such as CIBSE and BS EN 12464
- Understanding of electrical systems and MEP coordination
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects (rail, airports, data centres)
- Familiarity with BIM tools (e.g. Revit)
- Knowledge of smart lighting and control systems
- Site experience in installation and commissioning
