The CSA Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of civil works on a pharmaceutical construction project in Dublin, with a primary focus on earthworks and deep drainage packages. The role involves leading a team of approximately 10 operatives, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all site activities related to earthworks and deep drainage
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of ~10 workers, ensuring productivity and high standards of workmanship
- Interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications, and method statements
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations, particularly within a live pharmaceutical environment
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions
- Monitor progress against the programme and report updates to site management
- Coordinate with engineers, site managers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and sequencing
- Ensure correct use of plant, equipment, and materials on site
- Identify and resolve on-site issues proactively
- Maintain site records, including daily reports, permits, and inspections
- Ensure quality control procedures are followed, including inspections and testing of drainage and groundworks
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures
- Ensure all permits (e.g. excavation, confined space, lifting operations) are in place and followed
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g. cleanliness, documentation, traceability where required)
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Foreman or Supervisor on civil/groundworks projects
- Strong background in earthworks and deep drainage systems
- Experience working on pharmaceutical or highly regulated construction projects (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Valid Safe Pass and relevant tickets (e.g. CSCS/CPCS equivalent, plant tickets as required)
- Knowledge of Irish construction regulations and standards
