Our client is looking for a passionate Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in Linux and AWS. They are an organization that supports critical research for about 50 million researchers, scientists, and academics across various industries and across Europe and the world!

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible to maximise service delivery, high availability, performance optimisation and ensure that the services' efficiency to the Research and Education (R&E) community as they evolve, and their scalability requirements change.

Who are you?

My client is looking for someone who is energetic and enthusiastic with demonstrable drive and tenacity when faced with any issues and problems. You will need good understanding of continuous integration and deployment, configuration management and process automation. Besides being proficient in Debian Linux operating systems, AWS is your best friend.

What skills do you need to be successful in this role:

  • Cloud-based hosting on AWS
  • Proficiency in Debian Linux
  • Experience working with Ansible
  • Experience with Python3
  • Understanding of modern web architectures (DNS, HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP(v4/6), Load-balancing, edge-delivery (CDN) to persistence layers) and how to effectively monitor and measure availability and reliability of web applications
