We're a multi global leading supplier within the offshire industry. We're seeking an experienced and talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and solutions for our diverse range of industrial projects. This is a key role that requires exceptional technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical Design: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, equipment, and components for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Project Management: Plan and manage mechanical engineering projects, including defining project scope, creating schedules, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, offering innovative solutions and resolving complex mechanical engineering challenges.
- Design Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs, considering factors such as cost, quality, efficiency, manufacturability, and sustainability.
- Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping and testing of mechanical systems, evaluating performance, identifying improvements, and implementing necessary modifications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and clarity of information.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality standards and processes, conducting thorough inspections and reviews to ensure adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks in mechanical engineering projects, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize impact.
- Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the overall success of the engineering team.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with advancements in mechanical engineering technology, industry trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in mechanical engineering, preferably in heavy industrial or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering challenges.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in design and documentation.
