Our client combines language training with cultural exchange, academic achievement, and educational travel to deliver courses and programmes that transform dreams into international opportunities. Now they are building up a brand new team within their Language Centre to reimagine the customer experience and provide a full e-commerce experience to complement traditional offline sales. They are re looking for a Senior Product Owner to join them in this task.

As the right candidate, you have:

  • Minimum 5-year experience in product management
  • 10+ years of experience working in a technology environment in Education, Sales, or CRM
  • Good understanding of the business operations of schools/language schools
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of software development with Web and Microsoft technologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server queries and are able to troubleshoot
  • In-depth knowledge of SCRUM principles and good experience working with agile teams.
  • Experience with off or near shore development teams (specific experience with offshore development in India/South Asia)
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly and effectively communicate with a broad range of internal and external clients

  • An excellent team player
  • Well versed in coordinating and directing all phases of project-based efforts
  • Able to communicate, plan, budget, train, control, drive & execute large-scale applications
  • Skillful in generating ad hoc reports using Power BI when required
  • Deft in planning & implementing additions, deletions and major modifications to supporting software
  • Certified in PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or similar as an advantage

The role:

  • Managing the end-to-end delivery of all the applications used in operations
  • Establishing and controlling project constraints and scope
  • Managing relationships and communication with all project stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain effective and proactive relationships with users
  • Eliminating doubts and misunderstanding between the business users and development team
  • Avoid or remove silos by bringing transparency of requirements, priorities and healthy discussions around the business impacts of project initiatives
  • Making sure the features that have bigger importance for the operations are considered properly on the IT agenda
  • Understanding business challenges and translate them into process/technical solutions
  • Recommending new and advanced ways to improve company productivity and reduce costs
  • Recommending process development initiatives and technical solutions to replace manual tasks
  • Coordinating new features delivery approach with the delivery team in Bangalore and stakeholders
  • Coaching and following up users to utilize all the existing features in the system
  • Identifying the reason a feature or application is not used and make it usable through working with the Bangalore team
  • Coaching the project team in Bangalore as appropriate to the needs of the individual project
  • Providing clear ownership and visibility of the resolution of all project risks and issues from a final user point of view
  • Lead improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the project delivery service
  • Contribute to the identification of areas of improvement
  • Providing efficiency improvement updates to Senior Management
  • Pro-actively reviewing the service provided to customers and making sure that SLA is met
  • Making sure IT is following a preventive approach and monitor and fix issues quickly
  • Formalizing periodic reports that can be used by the stakeholders to support their business decisions
