Managing Director Germany

Company Overview:

Our client is a rapidly expanding engineering firm specializing in underground infrastructure projects. The company has evolved into a full-service engineering provider, serving the Telecom and Energy markets across the Benelux region and Germany. To support their growth, they are launching a new branch office in Rhede, Germany, and are seeking an experienced engineer with a telecommunications background to step into an entry-level Managing Director role. This unique opportunity is ideal for a technically skilled individual ready to transition into senior management.

Job Summary:

As the Managing Director of the new Rhede branch, you will be developing the company’s presence in the German market. This role is tailored for an engineer with substantial telecommunications experience who is eager to take on a leadership position.

In this position, you will transition from a technical engineering role into a managerial capacity, making key decisions that impact the branch’s growth and success. The role is ideal for an engineer with experience in project delivery and team leadership, looking to expand their career into management. You will be supported by the larger corporate group, which will provide expertise in technology, finance, and market trends to help ensure the success of your branch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Branch Establishment and Development: Take the lead in setting up the new branch office in Rhede. This includes overseeing the office’s physical setup, hiring and building a competent team, and establishing operational processes.
  • Market Acquisition and Client Relationship Management: Use your telecommunications and engineering expertise to acquire new orders from the Telecom and Energy markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met with high-quality service and timely project delivery.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch, including project management, quality control, and delivery timelines. Ensure that all engineering work, primarily carried out by a sister company within the group, meets the company’s high standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to grow the branch’s market in Germany. Identify new business opportunities, expand the branch’s service offerings, and position the company as a leader in underground infrastructure engineering.
  • Technical Oversight: Utilize your technical background in telecommunications and underground infrastructure to review project designs, oversee permit application processes, and ensure accurate data administration.

What We Offer:

  • Dynamic Work Environment: Join a young and energetic team where innovation and collaboration are encouraged.
  • Competitive Compensation: Receive a remuneration package that reflects your experience and educational background, with room for growth as you develop in your role.
  • Professional Development: Benefit from extensive and personalized training opportunities, including paid training courses, to help you advance your skills and career.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Enjoy flexibility in your work location and hours, with a primary base in Assen. This flexibility allows for a better work-life balance and the ability to adapt to personal needs.

Requirements:

  • Telecommunications and Engineering Expertise: A strong background in telecommunications and underground infrastructure engineering is essential.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience in reviewing technical drawings (e.g., AutoCAD), overseeing permit applications, and setting up data administration processes is needed. Your ability to oversee multiple projects, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality delivery will be key to your success in this role.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and German, spoken and written, is required to effectively manage client relationships and internal communications.
  • Market Knowledge: Demonstrable knowledge of the German underground infrastructure market, including a strong professional network, is highly desirable.
