Job Title: Lead Pump Mechanic

Department: Service Department

Location: Baltimore, MD

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to field service calls independently; diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of pump systems on day one.

• Service, rebuild, install, and maintain centrifugal, split-case, vertical turbine, submersible, and positive displacement pumps.

• Perform detailed troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues.

• Lead field projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer specifications.

• Mentor, train, and support junior technicians; provide hands-on guidance, technical direction, and best practices.

• Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations to minimize downtime and reduce repeat failures.

• Document service work, parts usage, recommendations, and test results in clear and accurate reports.

• Interpret drawings, pump curves, alignment specifications, tolerances, and manufacturer technical data.

• Communicate professionally with customers; explain findings, recommend corrective actions, and provide repair estimates.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and service truck in optimal condition; uphold strong safety and housekeeping standards.
