Embedded Systems Engineer – SLAM Navigation
Location – Trondheim, Norway
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded software for autonomous and robotic systems.
- Develop real-time navigation, localisation, and sensor fusion algorithms.
- Work with advanced sensing technologies for surveillance, reconnaissance, and autonomous operation.
- Develop software in C and C++ for embedded platforms.
- Use Python for rapid prototyping, testing, and algorithm development.
- Build and maintain ROS-based robotic applications.
- Integrate software with hardware platforms and support system testing and validation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring new technologies from concept to deployment.
Required Experience:
- Strong experience in embedded software development.
- Proficiency in C and C++.
- Experience with Python.
- Hands-on experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Practical experience working with robotic or autonomous systems.
- Strong understanding of SLAM (Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping).
- Experience with state estimation, sensor fusion, and navigation algorithms.
- Experience implementing and working with filtering techniques such as:
- Kalman Filters
- Extended Kalman Filters (EKF)
- Factor Graph optimisation
- Bayesian filtering approaches
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years of industry experience (flexible for exceptional candidates).
- Experience within autonomous vehicles, robotics, defence, marine technology, drones, or advanced sensing systems.
- Experience with real-world deployment of navigation and localisation systems.
- Security Clearance Requirements:
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
- Due to the nature of the projects, applicants must be citizens of a NATO member country.
