Position Summary
This role is essential for ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence. The position focuses on developing and implementing effective quality management systems, driving compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and oversee quality control processes for all production phases, including manufacturing, assembly, testing, and installation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve product reliability.
- Train and support employees on quality assurance practices, fostering awareness and commitment to excellence.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the wind energy industry, including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI/ISO standards.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, updating company policies and procedures to remain compliant.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including audits, inspections, training sessions, and incident investigations.
Supplier and Customer Quality Assurance
- Define quality criteria for materials and components, conducting supplier evaluations and audits to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Engage with customers to understand their quality expectations, addressing concerns and ensuring product performance meets or exceeds requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality and safety, implementing strategies to improve efficiency and outcomes.
- Lead initiatives using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement in quality and safety programs.
Health & Safety Management
- Develop and execute a robust Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) to create a safe work environment.
- Perform risk assessments and hazard analyses to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices.
- Provide comprehensive safety training covering topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and accident prevention.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions to enhance safety performance and prevent recurrence.
