Project Manager – Civil / Site Engineering (New Jersey)

An established, multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead civil/site and land development projects throughout New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as primary client contact and maintain strong client relationships
• Identify new project opportunities, add-on services, and cross-disciplinary work
• Support business development efforts, including proposals, RFQs, and presentations
• Participate in go/no-go evaluations and proposal strategy, budgeting, and scheduling
• Lead project planning, including work plans, staffing, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC
• Oversee subconsultants and coordinate with internal technical and support teams
• Review contracts, manage risk, and ensure compliance with insurance and documentation requirements
• Monitor project financial performance, job costs, and billing; initiate corrective actions as needed
• Manage change orders and ensure timely invoicing and receivables
• Maintain project documentation per company policy
• Attend client meetings, public hearings, and industry events as needed
• Support continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in civil site design and land development project delivery
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience supporting development projects through local or municipal review/approval processes
• Strong client relationship management and business development abilities
• Demonstrated success leading projects, managing budgets, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
• Good understanding of project risk management and dispute avoidance practices
