Automation Engineer

A Rotterdam-based company pioneering zero-emission shipping solutions, is seeking a talented Automation Engineer to join the dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to make a real difference.

The Role:

• Design, build, and test software for ship automation systems, incorporating data analytics
• Develop and implement innovative automation solutions for sustainable ships
• Provide technical support and expertise to various departments
• Analyse data and create clear visualizations
• Define and source equipment specifications for automation systems
• Be the point of contact and information hub for all things automation

Who You Are:

• A passionate Automation Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in designing and installing automation systems, ideally within the shipbuilding or offshore industry
• A skilled problem solver with a critical thinking approach
• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field
• Possess expertise in automation engineering, testing, and commissioning (HMI, PLC, SCADA)
• Have experience using engineering software like Matlab and Python (or similar)
• A bonus: Experience developing and integrating Internet of Things (IoT) solutions
• Driven by a desire to contribute to sustainable practices in the maritime industry
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch language skills are a plus
