Lead Engineer – Electrical & Electronics
Location: Friesland, Netherlands
Overview:
The Lead Engineer – Electrical & Electronics is a key role within our engineering department, responsible for overseeing the design, coordination, and implementation of all electrical and electronic systems in our explorer yacht projects. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a deep understanding of marine engineering.
Responsibilities:
Electrical & Electronics Systems Oversight:
- Oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of all electrical and electronic systems.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, budgets, and schedules.
- Develop comprehensive engineering packages that meet quality standards and exceed client expectations.
Technical Information Management:
- Efficiently manage the collection, dissemination, and analysis of technical information.
- Conduct feasibility studies and issue procurement orders for required work.
Vendor Coordination:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and companies.
- Ensure high-quality standards and compliance with project requirements.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee, execute, and control quality assurance processes.
- Ensure compliance with class approvals and maintain exceptional quality standards.
Project Management:
- Monitor project scheduling and progress.
- Proactively address issues and facilitate smooth communication.
- Manage project budgets and costs effectively.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated on market developments and industry trends.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members.
- Contribute to staff development and training.
Qualifications:
- Relevant technical education (HBO level or higher) in naval architecture, marine engineering, or systems engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role, with a focus on electrical and electronic systems in explorer yachts.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Deep understanding of marine engineering systems, materials, and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and classification society standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Passion for yachting and commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, CADmatic, Windows, Microsoft 365).
