About the Role

Our client, a pioneering aircraft manufacturer with a rich history, is seeking a dynamic Head of Avionics, Electrics & EWIS to join their team. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and Develop the Department: You will be responsible for the disciplinary leadership of the Avionics, Electrics & EWIS department, which comprises over 20 skilled engineers. Your strategic oversight will ensure alignment with both company-level and directorate-level targets.

  • Strategic Planning and Workforce Management: You will define department sub-structures, roles, and responsibilities, perform workforce and workload planning, and adjust the team as needed to meet program and project demands. Your leadership will be critical to ensuring on-time, on-cost, and on-quality delivery of all initiatives.

  • People Development and Mentorship: Identifying and nurturing high-potential talent will be a key focus, as will ensuring that all engineers receive the training necessary to meet program milestones. You will also play a pivotal role in coaching emerging leaders within the team.

  • Process Definition and Maintenance: You will define and maintain development processes and procedures for Avionics, Electrics & EWIS in line with regulatory requirements and evolving certification standards. Additionally, you will spearhead digitalization and automation initiatives within your department.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years of proven disciplinary leadership experience in a similar area.
  • A strong background in strategy and organizational development.
  • Excellent team-building, motivation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • A proven track record of developing and coaching diverse, multi-cultural teams.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities, with a knack for influencing others.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
