Job Summary

The Wind Turbine Lift Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of lift systems within wind turbine towers. This position involves installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of lift systems, enabling technicians and engineers to perform their work effectively. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, demonstrate technical expertise, and thrive in dynamic, challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Setup: Install lift systems and components in wind turbine towers in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and engineering instructions.
  • Inspection & Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency. Document findings in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues with lift systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components, minimizing downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and fall protection measures. Ensure lift systems meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Report safety issues or equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with field technicians, supervisors, and engineering teams to address technical issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Ongoing Training: Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry standards, safety practices, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational certification in lift maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in lift or elevator maintenance, repair, or a related field.
  • Experience working in wind turbines or industrial settings is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and adaptability to high-pressure situations.
  • Certifications such as CET, NEIEP, OSHA, or GWO (working at heights) are preferred.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina for manual labor, including climbing and working in varied weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Willingness to travel.
