About the Role
Are you an expert in aircraft system safety with a passion for avionics, electrical systems, and autopilot technology? Our client, a leading aircraft manufacturer with a long-standing heritage, is seeking an Expert System Safety Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a critical role where you will help shape the future of aviation by ensuring the highest safety standards in the development of advanced aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:

Perform Comprehensive Safety Analyses: Independently conduct all aircraft/system-level safety analyses, taking full technical responsibility for safety assessments throughout the Safety V cycle.

Develop and Update Safety Processes: You will be responsible for developing and updating safety processes and procedures, ensuring they meet the latest industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with Design Teams: Align closely with the Systems Design and Installation team to ensure safety requirements are fully integrated into the system designs.

Identify and Resolve Certification Gaps: Proactively identify any safety certification gaps or issues and work diligently towards their resolution, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations.

Work with Suppliers: Collaborate with external suppliers to achieve target safety levels, ensuring that all components meet rigorous safety standards.

Support Common Cause Analyses: Lead and support various Common Cause Analyses (CCA), including Particular Risk Analysis (PRA) and Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA), to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.

Manage Validation and Verification: Oversee the validation and verification of safety requirements, ensuring that all systems function safely and reliably under all operating conditions.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you should bring:
- A Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in aircraft/system safety, ideally at major OEMs or in a consulting capacity.
- Deep knowledge of safety processes, including AFHA, SFHA, PSSA, CMA, SSA, FMEA, and reliability prediction of complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with safety tools such as Reliability Workbench, CAFTA, or equivalent FTA software.
- Strong expertise in avionics, electrical systems, and autopilot domains.
- Familiarity with SAE ARP4754B and ARP4761A standards.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in English, with knowledge of German being a plus.
