Senior FEM Engineer

As a Senior FEM Engineer you’ll play a vital role in designing one-of-a-kind superyachts.

Your Role:

  • You’ll leverage your expertise in construction, mechanical engineering, and naval architecture to analyse and optimize yacht structures.
  • Utilizing Finite Element Methods (FEM) software, you’ll create models and simulations to refine yacht construction.
  • As part of the FEM knowledge centre, you’ll collaborate with your team and share your FEM wisdom.
  • You’ll juggle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring top-notch engineering across the board.
  • You’ll play a key role in developing and testing new tools and methodologies to streamline the process.

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned professional with a strong background in engineering and FEM analysis.
  • You possess at least 4 years of experience as an FEM or Structural Engineer, with Lead Engineer experience being a valuable asset.
  • You’re well-versed in 3D CAD software and commercially available FEM software packages.

Your Qualifications:

  • Diploma: An HBO/WO level diploma in engineering or a related field is a must.
  • Experience: 4+ years of proven experience as an FEM/Structural Engineer (Lead Engineer experience a plus).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of ship construction and experience working with classification societies (LR, DNV, BV).
  • 3D CAD Software: Proficiency in 3D CAD software like NX, Inventor, or SolidWorks.
  • FEM Expertise: Excellent knowledge of FEM for static and dynamic analyses.
  • Software Savvy: Experience with commercial FEM software like Ansys, NASTRAN, Femap, or RFEM.
  • Programming Bonus: Programming knowledge using VBA or Python for tool development is a plus.
  • Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English (Dutch is a bonus).
