Responsibilities:

• Technical leadership and management of assigned vessels
• Planning and preparation of maintenance and repair work, both onboard and during dry-docking periods
• Ensuring compliance with the requirements of flag states, classification societies, and stakeholders
• Preparation, execution, and follow-up of audits and Port State Controls (PSCs), including the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
• Conducting regular inspections to ensure vessel safety and operational readiness
• Department-specific budget and investment planning for efficient resource allocation
• Working smart – promoting digitalization and engagement in technical projects, such as energy efficiency
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of quality, safety, and environmental standards
• Active participation in continuous improvement processes to optimize operational procedures

Requirements:

• Completed degree in Marine Engineering or a comparable qualification
• At least 3 years of sea service experience as a 2nd Engineer or in a higher position onboard or comparable
• Experience in technical inspection or in a shipyard is an advantage
• In-depth understanding of ship propulsion systems, machinery, electrical systems, and other technical equipment onboard
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of ship systems to minimize failures
• Knowledge of international maritime regulations and standards (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code)
• Strong problem-solving skills and resilience in crisis management
• Ability to write clear and precise technical reports and documentation
• Experience in budget management and cost control for maintenance and repair projects
• Analytical thinking with a proactive approach to developing digital solutions
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) and an unrestricted willingness to travel
