Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre (Contract)
Location: [Atlanta, Georgia]
Duration: 6-12 months (extension possible)
Rate: Competitive (W2 or 1099)
Overview:
Seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Contract) to support commissioning, operation, and upgrades of mission-critical data centre mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support HVAC systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, and hydronic systems
- Oversee contractors and commissioning activities (FAT/SAT/IST)
- Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, local codes, and OSHA
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support preventive maintenance
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in data centres or critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of cooling systems and redundancy concepts
