Our client is a reputable agency that bridges international ship repair yards and equipment suppliers with the German maritime industry. They focus on providing customized solutions for German shipowners and ship management companies, handling everything from small-scale repairs and diving operations to extensive dry-docking projects and complex vessel conversions.

Commercially-Focused Sales Manager

This role is ideal for candidates with strong business development and client management skills who are driven to identify and pursue new business opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Business Development: Identify potential clients and opportunities within the German maritime market, with a focus on shipowners and ship managers.
  • Client Relationships: Build and nurture long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Sales Management: Oversee the sales cycle from initial client engagement through contract negotiations, project agreements, and follow-through.

Technically-Focused Project Manager

This role is suited for candidates with a strong technical background in ship repair and conversion, focusing on project execution and technical problem-solving. Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Support: Provide clients and internal teams with expert technical advice on repair and conversion projects.
  • Project Liaison: Collaborate closely with shipyards and suppliers to align project deliverables with client specifications.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor ongoing projects, addressing technical challenges and ensuring timelines and standards are upheld.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential for effective communication with international clients. Proficiency in German is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Maritime Industry Experience: Prior experience in the shipping industry, with an understanding of ship repair, operations, and maintenance processes.
  • Commercial Skills (for Sales role): Proven expertise in client negotiations, contract development, and closing sales within the maritime sector.
  • Technical Expertise (for Project Management role): In-depth knowledge of ship repair, conversions, and related technical processes.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Abilities: Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients and team members.
  • Proactive & Results-Oriented: Self-motivated and able to take initiative to achieve goals and drive project success.
  • Adaptability: Willing to travel domestically and internationally to meet with clients and conduct on-site project assessments.
  • Global Perspective: Experience in Asian markets, especially in maritime industries, is a notable advantage.
