We're looking for a Ground Segment Engineer for a leading European technology and science service provider. With 2,000 employees at locations in Germany and the EU, they offer their partners analytical, technical and operational solutions in the Satellite and Space industries.

You will have the chance to work on unique projects, including 2nd generation Galileo satellite constellations.

As a key member of the team, your role will focus on concept development, design, and technical procurement. Your responsibilities include extending and modifying the Ground Segments to cater to the needs of new customers and supporting additional satellites. Additionally, you will be in charge of maintaining the existing ground stations to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations. Your expertise in these areas will play a vital role in enhancing our satellite communication capabilities and serving our expanding customer base.

You will be involved in classified and confidential projects, so German Security Clearance is a requirement.

We seek candidates with the following qualifications and expertise:

1. Proficient in Systems Engineering.
2. Experienced in Integration, Verification, and Validation.
3. Knowledgeable in Satellite ground segment system and subsystems.
4. Well-versed in Linux systems, shell, and shell-scripting.
5. Fluent in English.

Additionally, having knowledge in the following areas would be highly valuable:

1. Familiarity with the operations and management of satellite ground systems, including monitoring and control.

2. Understanding of satellite navigation systems or ground segment technologies, enabling effective collaboration with related projects.

3. Proficiency in SCOS-2000, a standard software system used in spacecraft operations, to enhance operational efficiency.

4. Experience in telemetry and telecommand processing, monitoring, and control, ensuring smooth communication and data handling between satellites and ground stations
