Field Service Technician – Air Compressors

Position Overview

We’re expanding our field service team and are hiring a Field Service Technician to support industrial air compressor systems. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role offering strong hourly pay, comprehensive benefits, and long-term career growth.


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on:

    • Piston & rotary screw air compressors

    • Oil-flooded & oil-free multi-brand compressors

    • Refrigerated & desiccant air dryers

  • Install new equipment as required

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, VSD drives, and compressor controls

  • Complete work orders and clearly communicate service findings

  • Follow all safety procedures at customer sites

  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain positive customer relationships

  • Work independently and collaboratively with the service team

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule


Job Requirements

  • 3+ years field service or industrial maintenance experience (preferred)

  • Air compressor experience helpful but not required

  • Strong mechanical & electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and parts documentation

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR

  • Ability to pass drug screen & background check (military base work)

  • Willingness to travel up to 5% (hotel & per diem provided)

  • Experience driving pickups, flatbeds, and pull-behind trailers

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and problem-solving ability

  • Physical capability to:

    • Lift up to 50 lbs

    • Walk, stand, crouch, climb ladders, and work at heights

Service Locations Supported

  • Michigan: Grand Rapids, Detroit

  • Indiana: Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne

  • Ohio: Cincinnati, Columbus


Pay & Benefits

  • $32-$38 per hour

  • $5,000 signing bonus

  • Technicians paid based on hands-on work time
