Our client is seeking a Software Engineer Automation Systems to join them at their Rostock office where you will be working for a major player in the shipbuilding industry and transportation technology.

The mission:

• Functional design of propulsion control systems and energy management systems.
• PLC/DCS programming based on our CODESYS software platform
• Close co-operation with system suppliers for engines, gearboxes, propeller drives, converters, fuel cells, batteries, etc.
• Conceptual design and specification of customer specific automation systems
• Liaising with the development department to further develop our basic software
• Occasional attendance of commissioning and acceptance tests
• Participation in creating project relevant documents as manuals, function descriptions, and specifications

Your profile:

• Degree (BSc. or MSc) in electrical engineering, information technology, or automation technology or a completed apprenticeship in a related field
• Advanced knowledge in PLC programming and in automation technology required
• Background in shipbuilding or in maritime sector (e.g. assignments on board) advantageous
• German Fluency / English Fluency
• Willingness to travel occasionally (national/international)
