In this role, you will leverage advanced process control, AI, and IoT 5.0 technologies to drive digital transformation and operational excellence in the manufacturing industry.

Preferred location for this position is Alpharetta, GA, but we welcome highly skilled and experienced candidates residing near a major airport anywhere in the United States.

What You Will Be Doing

Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

  • Process Analysis: Apply your deep knowledge of process control and automation systems to analyze and understand specific processes within the Pulp & Paper mill, identifying areas for advanced control strategy implementation to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Customer Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor, collaborating closely with Pulp & Paper customers to assess their existing processes, identify pain points, and understand production objectives. Provide recommendations and technical support to implement advanced control solutions based on this analysis.

  • Solution Design: Work with our team of process and automation experts to design and develop advanced control solutions tailored to each customer’s unique needs. This may involve designing control algorithms and integrating sensors and instrumentation.

  • Implementation Oversight: Oversee the implementation of advanced control systems in the customer’s mill. This includes configuring and tuning control loops, conducting system testing, and ensuring seamless integration with existing automation systems.

  • Performance Monitoring: Use proprietary software to continuously monitor and analyze mill performance, including analyzing real-time data, diagnosing issues or deviations, and fine-tuning control algorithms as necessary to optimize process performance.

  • Quality Improvement: Play a pivotal role in improving product quality by implementing advanced control strategies to minimize variations, reduce defects, and ensure consistent product quality, critical in the Pulp & Paper industry.

  • Training: Train our customers’ personnel to operate and maintain the advanced control systems effectively, ensuring long-term success through knowledge transfer.

What We’re Looking For

When selecting candidates, we seek the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, preferably in Industrial Technology / Automation or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in process control and automation
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Pulp & Paper industrial processes
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and quality management systems
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and process control; programming experience with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation
  • Registered or eligible for immediate registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is an asset
  • Valid passport and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Authorized to work in the United States
