Role Summary

The company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chip Design Tech Lead to spearhead the development of next-generation analog and mixed-signal circuits for medical and wearable device products. In this critical role, the successful candidate will lead a team of talented designers, driving technical excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of analog and mixed-signal designers, mentoring and coaching team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Define and implement best practices, design methodologies, and verification strategies to ensure robust and efficient design flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including digital designers, layout engineers, and verification engineers, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the overall system.

Design Oversight and Coordination

  • Oversee the design and development of high-performance, low-power analog and mixed-signal circuits for medical and wearable devices, including biosensors, amplifiers, filters, data converters, and power management circuits.
  • Coordinate design activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines, design specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct design reviews, providing technical guidance and feedback to the team, and ensuring alignment with project goals and medical device requirements.

Team Management and Mentorship

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of analog and mixed-signal designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Identify and address skill gaps within the team, developing and implementing training programs to enhance technical capabilities.
  • Promote knowledge-sharing and continuous learning, encouraging team members to stay current with the latest trends and advancements in the field.

Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including medical professionals, regulatory bodies, and external partners, to ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulations and industry standards.
  • Represent the design team in technical meetings and presentations, effectively communicating complex technical concepts and design decisions to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals, requirements, and timelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, with a strong background in one or more of the following areas: biosensors, amplifiers, filters, data converters, or power management circuits for medical or wearable devices. Proven experience leading and managing design teams.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of analog and mixed-signal design tools, circuit simulation tools, and advanced design methodologies. Proficiency in low-power and energy-efficient design techniques for wearable and implantable devices.
  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and drive projects to successful completion.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including medical professionals, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to anticipate and address technical challenges and make informed decisions that align with organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced process nodes (e.g., 28nm, 16nm, or below) for low-power and compact designs.
  • Proven track record of successful product development and delivery in the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal design methodologies and verification techniques for medical applications.
  • Experience with analog/mixed-signal IP development and reuse in the medical device industry.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant medical device regulations and compliance requirements.
