Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer
Position Overview:
The Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for the successful execution of mechanical design and development projects, from concept through to completion. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including sales, production, and R&D, to ensure that projects meet customer specifications, are delivered on time, and stay within budget. A strong technical background in mechanical engineering, excellent project management skills, and a keen eye for detail are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring all project objectives are met.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against these.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mechanical Design & Engineering:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for high-precision rotary converting tools and machines.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and analysis to validate designs.
- Oversee the production of prototypes and manage testing and validation processes.
- Customer Interaction:
- Work closely with customers to understand their technical requirements and ensure these are reflected in the project deliverables.
- Provide technical support and expertise to customers during the project, ensuring their expectations are met.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and practices.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Implement lessons learned from past projects to improve future project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a project-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools.
- Excellent project management skills, including experience with project planning, budgeting, and risk management.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
