Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer – CAD, Quantum Computing, Solidworks, COMSOL, Thermal simulations, Munich

A leading quantum computing customer of mine in Munich could be your next stop in your career……..the business’ quantum computers store information in individual atoms and are built on the precision of the world’s best atomic clocks and quantum gas microscopes.

The business is looking for a Senior Optical Mechanical Engineer to join a hardware team building the most advanced quantum computers to date.
This role involves working closely with leading scientists, hardware, software and algorithm experts to bring their technology to life.

Responsibilities:

– Working on product development; working on mechanical, opto-mechanical and mechatronic devices
– Ensuring thermal and structural stability
– Liaising with suppliers – managing part procurement with subcontractors
– Working closely with physicists and engineering teams, making a dream a reality by assembling quantum computers

Skills:

– 5 years+ experience in mechanical engineering or related fields (optics, semi-conductors, laser physics, aerospace etc….)
– Strong CAD design skills in Solidworks
– Advanced knowledge in mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
– Experience in structural and thermal simulations (ideally COMSOL)
– Designing and assembling vacuums systems (ideally in UHV/XHV)
