About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Electrical Commissioning (Cx) Manager to lead and manage the electrical commissioning process for our state-of-the-art data centre facility in Istanbul, Turkey.

As a key contractor on-site, you will be responsible for driving the commissioning program from Level 1 (Factory Acceptance Testing) through to Level 5 (Integrated Systems Testing / IST). You will ensure all mission-critical electrical power systems-including MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, STS, switchgear, and EPMS-are rigorously tested, validated, and documented to meet strict Uptime Institute Tier standards, local Turkish regulations, and international industry codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and Manage Cx Process: Oversee and drive the end-to-end commissioning process (L1 to L5) for complex electrical infrastructure and critical power distribution systems.
• Planning & Scheduling: Develop, refine, and execute comprehensive electrical commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules aligned with project milestones.
• Technical Quality Control: Review and approve electrical test scripts (including load bank testing, step-loads, and black-building tests) and reports to verify full compliance.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with design teams, the general contractor, electrical subcontractors, and client operations to resolve complex technical issues and defects.
• Safety Leadership: Coordinate and witness site inspections and functional performance testing, ensuring strict adherence to electrical safety, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and safe switching procedures.
• Resource & Team Management: Manage onsite electrical commissioning resources, assigning tasks and mentoring junior commissioning engineers.
• Reporting & Handover: Provide clear, regular progress and defect reports to senior management and support the seamless handover to the operations team with comprehensive technical documentation and training.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a highly related Building Services Engineering discipline.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in building services or electrical engineering, with a strong, proven track record in a leadership or management role specifically within critical environments (Data Centres preferred).
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, Diesel Generators, UPS systems, Battery systems, Static Transfer Switches (STS), EPMS/SCADA systems, and protection relay coordination.
• Standards & Codes: Solid understanding of commissioning standards and guidelines (e.g., IEEE, IEC, ASHRAE, and Uptime Institute Tier standards).
• Software Competency: Familiarity with online project management, QA/QC, and commissioning/handover software platforms.
• Language & Communication: Excellent communication and leadership skills in English. Professional proficiency in Turkish is highly advantageous for communicating with local utility providers, subcontractors, and authorities.
• Certifications: Professional electrical or commissioning certifications (e.g., CSA, NEBB, BCA, ACG, or equivalent electrical testing credentials) are highly advantageous.
