We’re supporting a defense-tech company on a critical, long-standing search for a Level II Certified TEMPEST Engineer to join a highly classified engineering team.

This is a rare opportunity to build a full-scale TEMPEST lab from the ground up. You’d be stepping into a high-autonomy role with full ownership over testing, certification, lab development, and compliance. This is one of the most technically demanding roles in national security hardware engineering – and it’s only open to candidates with the right credentials.

What You’ll Do

• Design, test, and certify secure hardware products to NSA TEMPEST standards

• Build out and certify a new TEMPEST lab under the TEMPEST Manufacturing and Test Services Program

• Collaborate across digital, analog, and mechanical engineering teams

• Develop test plans and procedures for both experimental and formal evaluations

• Lead product certification efforts with the NSA

• Support EMI/EMC compliance as needed

• Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of test failures

✅ Requirements

• Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II (CTP-II)

• Active Secret clearance (minimum) – TS clearance preferred or obtainable

• US Citizenship (no exceptions – ITAR/DoD restricted)

• Hands-on experience with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-02

• Deep familiarity with TEMPEST testing equipment (receivers, DSAs, scopes, etc.)

• Strong understanding of analog/digital hardware fundamentals

• Experience in hardware design and failure diagnostics

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, or related technical field

• Willing to travel up to 50%
