Position Overview:
As a Generator Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of power generation systems. Leveraging your expertise in mechanical engineering and generator technology, you will be responsible for creating innovative solutions that meet the performance and efficiency requirements of our clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including diesel and natural gas-powered generators, and to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver unique power solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop generator systems from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance analysis to optimize generator designs for efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate generators into larger power systems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed drawings and models, providing clear documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform testing and validation of generator prototypes, identifying and resolving any design issues or performance limitations.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in power generation, providing recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in generator design and engineering, with a focus on diesel and natural gas-powered systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other design tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a demonstrated track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing power generation systems.
